During this session, Jessica Miller and Jim Yard will discuss leading practices on how to take your second and third lines of defense (Risk, Compliance and Audit functions) from assessing the risk to providing risk assurance.

Mitigating Risk through the Due Diligence Process – Pillar+Aught

In this session, Ken Rollins and Kate Deringer Sallie of Pillar+Aught will discuss how an effective due diligence process can mitigate against deal risk (whether in the M&A, lending or capital raise context). Topics to be covered will include key areas to be reviewed during the due diligence process and issues that commonly arise. Ken and Kate will also provide advice on how to manage the diligence process to increase efficiency and lower costs.

Cybersecurity Updates and Latest Trends – Schneider Downs

During this session, Tim Wolfgang will cover some of the latest evolving cybersecurity threats and who your institution should do to protect against these threats. We will go over some of the latest cybercrime trends such as Business Email Compromise, ransomware, and ATM Fraud. Lessons learned and best practices from Schneider Downs’ cybersecurity team, and an overview of mitigating cybersecurity risk arising from mergers and acquisitions.
