About the Event

The need for sustainability is an increasingly relevant topic within the business world in which we operate.

Organizations worldwide are under significant scrutiny from governments, customers, employees and communities to conduct operations with more transparency and clarity, especially when it comes to their sustainability practices.

The emerging focus of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting further places the implementation of sustainable practices at the forefront of corporate planning for companies of all sizes and industries.

While legislations and requirements are not yet widely in effect, this is an appropriate time to evaluate both the operational and the ethical considerations that drive corporate sustainability.

Join Schneider Downs for a discussion and CPE event, “Doing Better at Doing Good,” presented by CB Bhattacharya, HJ Zoffer Chair of Sustainability and Ethics at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.

In this session, we will examine the value of corporate social performance, both as a contributor to society and to the bottom line. Can “doing the right thing” also be “good for business,” and how can this concept best be evaluated?

Location: Westin Convention Center Hotel, Pittsburgh

This presentation will provide 2 hours of Ethics CPE.

Takeaways from this presentation will include:

  • Why sustainability is at the forefront of corporate responsibility today
  • Examples of how companies worldwide are successfully making sustainability work for business
  • The definition of ESG, and discussion of its increasing importance in the corporate world
  • Identifying the challenges of measuring sustainable practices
  • Distinguishing between compliance and “doing the right thing”
  • Defining success when implementing sustainable practices
