Shad Fagerland Joins SDAdvantage Retirement Solutions
PITTSBURGH, PA—Schneider Downs, one of the top 60 public accounting, tax, and business advisory services firms in the U.S., has recently appointed Shad Fagerland as senior manager for the firm's SDAdvantage Retirement Solutions, LP subsidiary.
Mr. Fagerland joins the practice with over 17 years of experience as an employee benefits specialist. His expertise includes helping employers design and implement employee benefit plans, including qualified retired plans, health and welfare plans and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements.
Prior to joing SDAdvantage Retirement Solutions, Shad served in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service, where he drafted guidance on issues impacting employee benefit plan sponsors. He also has published guidance on a variety of topics, including health reimbursement arrangements, health savings accounts, tax treatment of same-sex spouses and employer reporting of offers of health coverages on IRS Forms 1094-C and 1095-C.

Mr. Fagerland received his B.A. in Psychology from Augustana College, his M.A. in English from Iowa State University and his J.D. from Yale Law School. He is also a member of the Virginia Bar Association and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
