When people asked me what my plans for the summer were, I excitedly told them I was going to be doing a Tax Internship at Schneider Downs.
They would then look at me with almost pity in their eyes and say something along the lines of well I guess someone has to do it. It was disheartening to constantly be told I was choosing a miserable work life.
When I got to SD my life was quite the opposite. The people I met and the experiences we have shared made the summer incredible. I have had lots of training and worked on many client’s taxes but while doing it I worked on the best engagement teams.
I learned about so many new things and got to experience it with the other interns. We would laugh and celebrate our successes and share the frustration of something not balancing. We leaned on each other for help and always shared the new “tricks” we learned. All jobs need people working them to make the world go-’round, and I am blessed to have had a tax internship with SD this summer.
