In 2018, pursuant to the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (“PADEP”) created several environmental grant programs aimed at reducing NOx emissions made by large on-road fleets. These programs range from Class 8 trucks and transit buses to ferries, tugboats and freight switchers. There are several opportunities for diesel fleets looking to convert to electric vehicles and/or install an electric vehicle infrastructure, as well.
On August 1, PADEP provided an update on the funds left for allocation and revised application deadlines. Following is the most current listing of programs, due dates and funds remaining for allocation.
