Federal Tax Update

Speaker: Dan Phillips

Description: Review of the current state of the federal legislature and potential tax reform objectives. Reflect on tax impacts of the OBBB across a variety of taxpayers and situations.

Learning objective: Obtain a general understanding of current status of the Capital and potential tax legislation.  Be familiar with high level impacts of the OBBB for 2025 and into the future.

Tax Planning Ideas for the High Net Worth Individual

Speakers: Darin Schindler and Vicki Mayowski

Description: : Individual income tax planning strategies and other strategies designed for high net worth individuals.

Learning Objective: Obtain knowledge of the tax planning strategies that high net worth individuals can benefit from with respect to their federal and state income taxes.

Estate Planning Update

Speaker: Greg Allison

Description: This session will provide an update on recent changes in the estate planning area (notably the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill), and visit some of the most popular estate planning strategies of 2025 focusing on the top strategies for individuals under the new $15 million exemption.

Learning Objectives: Identify recent legislative changes and case law impacting the estate planning area and understand relevant strategies to deploy.

State and Local Tax Planning and Update

Speaker: Stephen Worth

Description: This session will provide an update on recent changes to state tax legislation, including the state implications of the OBBB and a focus on changes in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The session will also include a discussion of common state tax pitfalls and opportunities for state tax savings.

Learning Objectives: Identify state tax legislative updates, as well as identify state tax exposure risk and opportunities.

Federal R&D Tax Credit Update

Speakers: Ross Alessandro, Erin Haase, Charlotte Garraway

Description: This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the Federal Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit, including key changes introduced by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) and recent IRS guidance. Attendees will gain insights into the reinstatement of immediate expensing for domestic R&D under Section 174A, enhanced documentation requirements for Form 6765, and strategic planning opportunities for both large and small businesses.

Learning Objectives: Understand the latest legislative and regulatory changes related to the Federal Research and Development Tax Credit.
